A blog about a celebrity photographer

Paparazzi are photo reporters who film scenes from the private lives of celebrities, without their consent. Such a profession is very similar, at first, to prying behavior, a desire to get into the private lives of stars, and to make it available to a mass audience. This is also what you might call any photographer who takes pictures of people secretly, without their consent.

Discussions about the ethical side of the profession have been going on for years: on the one hand, there are laws that are designed to protect the privacy of individuals in society, and on the other hand, there is the democracy of free speech, as well as the dissemination of images.

Note that the paparazzi are not ubiquitous to the extent that they are commonly thought of. Most celebrities, are well aware of what a powerful publicity mechanism the so-called “yellow” press has, and consciously cooperate with photographers. Many press secretaries of celebrities tell paparazzi in advance what time and where it will be possible to take a photo of the celebrity in a relaxed atmosphere. And most of the stars in addition to the publicity will have from this and a small fee – constantly find themselves in court on those newspapers that publish photos, violating the right to privacy. Thus, a mutually beneficial partnership is formed.

But, this rarely happens. As a rule, paparazzi know no boundaries, and celebrities themselves are different people with their own temperament and temperament. For example, Paris Hilton and Ksenia Sobchak resort to photographers to achieve their goals, while making advertising for themselves. And Matthew McConaughey, with the help of his surfing friends, deprived the annoying paparazzi of his main weapon of photographic equipment. Britney Spears wanted to physically assault photographers with a giant umbrella.

One can endlessly display one’s bewilderment at how shameless the paparazzi are, but let’s face the justice of their simply unbreakable argument: there will be no supply as long as there is no demand, no publishers paying a lot of money for so-called “roast” photos and readers buying newspapers with such pictures – no photographers themselves either. That’s something to think about.
