What lies benneath is layers and layers of paint, usually oil paint, on stretched canvas, or linen on board. It is also the title to one of Charlotte Kelly's paintings...In Charlotte's own words, she describes the essence of what she tries to convey: "Silent and still and peace at the end, away often from our manic lives. Time to celebrate the ordinary and everyday of living." - Lynda Cookson, Galwaynow magazine, July 2006.

Moonlit Night
Charlotte Kelly
ART EXHIBITION OPENS IN MOATE, AS PAINTER FOLLOWS HER HEART. The work of artist, Charlotte Kelly from Galway, is featured in an exhibition running in Tuar Ard in Moate, until November 9. The exhibition, entitled 'Soul Search' was opened on Friday 7th October by Senator Mary O'Rourke. Ms Kelly's background as a community nurse is a source of inspiration in her work, although she is presently on leave from nursing, in order to pursue painting full time....There are also religious overtones in her paintings, such as 'The Dead Christ','Transfiguration','The Holy Shroud' and 'The Resurrection'.... She is deeply influenced by the landscape and paintings such as 'Free Spirit' and 'Moonlit Night' speak strongly of this.... The beautifully framed and mounted works are uplifting, subtle, spiritual and a must for art lovers. Review....The Midland Tribune, October 2005.
