Towards a brighter day
Martina Mcateer
It seems finally that a breakthrough has been made in my work - The process of painting after a personal loss became more sombre and intense and in some ways heavy but it was necessary to paint this way to develop further and with this picture I feel a release in some way. I hope to have an exhibition of this journey of work during the year.

The beginning of 2012 and already an exhibition forthcoming - Gabrielus is a large oil painting on wooden panels , the composition unfolding like a mysterious message on a large scroll. May it grow and grow!A happy New Year to all.

I was absolutely thrilled to find out by accident that this had made it to the top vote with Artvitae. It must be divine intervention!

I am delighted that this work made it into the top twenty on the website. I have been accepted for the Oisin Gallery (www.oisingallery.com/martina mcateer)in Dublin Ireland. for representation and also this year my work was selected twice for international shows in New York. Yet apart from all of that I have so much to do and with the help of God I will do it!

The lure of a world of mysticsm, spiriruality and exotic beauty is always evident in the work of young Irish artist Martina Mcateer. There is a sombre ethereal dream like atmosphere which lulls the eye into a mesmeric gentle state and leaves a silent tongue with the aftertaste of a conversation with an aesthetic. Her work is simply borne from the heart and holds a claim of beauty in her quiet way.
