Figure in Bronze
Eoin de Leastar
Artist/Philosopher Eoin de Leastar is one of the invited participants in a three-person show entitled 'In Reference to Figuration' presently being held at the South Tipperary Arts Centre, Clonmel, Ireland. By the time ArtVitae.com left the show on opening night, all but one of de Leastar's sculptures was left unsold. Perhaps this is due in part to the fact that his pieces are rarely exhibited for sale to the public. The exhibit continues until the 24th of October 2003. Site specific works by sculptors Seamus Dunbar and Saturio Alonso are the other two artists making up this excellent exhibition - well worth the visit.

Vanitas
Eoin de Leastar
Artist Eoin de Leastar's philosophy of the artistic process is much like his painting - somewhat traditional, but more edgy overall. Witness: "It is not wrong to look for glory in art. Great art is often made by artists with a hunger for fame, wealth or glory. Bad art is made for the same reason." More memorable quotes.
