The main concern of Ms. Davis' works currently displayed here is to highlight the difference and push against the traditional male ideal portrayal of 'figure in landscape'. By making reference to this convention she wishes to somehow convey a more chaotic and utterly immodest truth; animal-like, predatory and confrontational, breaking away (in spirit) from traditional classical portrayals. Thus constituting a fully rounded presence: sexual and aesthetic, challenging, independent, celebratory, but above all human and unashamed of it.
