Creating objects and images in glass, glass steel or in combination with other materials as well as my paintings is always as with many artist’s the result of visual and emotional reaction to the every day environment as well as exposure to other art works that inspire me.
When I'm involved with an Architectural project where I have to create work for a space that has a certain function and therefore the atmospheric experience of the space is greatly influenced by what I do, the challenge is to immerse all the given facts in my thinking and come up with the appropriate design concept that can stand on its own and still is in harmony with the space and it’s purpose, or become more decorative and at the same time enhance the Architectural reality.
I'm always fascinated by the juxtaposition of forms and objects with the purpose to create another visual space that takes on another meaning.
This is also reflected in the title of the work where I sometimes play with double meaning’s and metaphors’ in a subtle way to entice the viewer to try discover his or her own meaning while viewing my work.
The most beautiful aspect of making art for me is to see the reaction or response of people to my work or other artists and the fact that art is the universal language that can break down all “cultural’ barriers and unite people at the moment of contact.
