Artist Area Directories for Ireland

Reaching the shelves of outlets in Ireland, and available online, the first in a series of Artist Area Directories for Ireland appeared in autumn of last year. Tastefully laid out the sharply focused glossy pages of this charming directory fulfil a number of pertinent objectives: to heighten the awareness of Irish contemporary artists and art venues, to provide that awareness via a colourful, portable, and professional format, and to support artists and venues form the profits of the sales of the directories.

A work in progress, the Artist Area Directories for Ireland is a series of artist directories divided into manageable units according to regional telephone areas. The '05' area directory includes over 40 artists in the Counties Tipperary, Kilkenny, Waterford, and Carlow. The '06' area directory is almost complete, and '02' is well in the pipeline.

An excellent and novel idea for those who might be travelling in Ireland would be to use these directories as guidebooks for a 'Studio Tour of Irish Artists'.

Alternatively, within Ireland the Directory is available at various outlets including the South Tipperary Arts Centre in Clonmel, and the South East Regional Craft Centre in Cahir.
